The studio

Wonderproof is a photography and film studio for culture, based in Turin. We work so that every image is proof of wonder: true to the work, worthy of the people who made it, presented exceptionally well.

    Mattia Gaido

    Photographer and director, founder

    Photographer since 2016, with a master in Visual Storytelling with CAMERA and ICP New York. Official photographer of Teatro Regio di Torino and Lingotto Musica, with a background as a television editor at Rai. Author of Perle di Luce, a project on the Venetian glass bead. Sigma Italia Ambassador, developing field tests and workshops with the brand.

    Leads filming, cinematography and video production on the studio’s projects, from set to edit.

Our approach

  1. Brief and site visit

    We start from who will use the images: press office, curators, archive, social. We visit the space and agree on timing, access and formats.

  2. Shoot

    We work quietly and discreetly, respecting rehearsals, audiences and artworks. Photo and video run under a single direction.

  3. Selection and post-production

    We select the strongest images and handle colour and editing. You receive finished work, not a folder of raw files.

  4. Delivery

    Photos by the next day, already sized for print, web and social. Edited films within 7 to 10 working days.

What sets us apart

An author’s eye

We do not simply document: every image carries a point of view. It is the same eye behind our personal projects, like Perle di Luce, shown at The Venice Glass Week and Homo Faber.

We only work in culture

Theatres, museums, galleries, festivals, foundations, fine crafts. We know the rhythm of an opening night, the rules of an exhibition hall and the needs of a press office.

Colour true to the work

We go to great lengths to faithfully reproduce the colours and nuances of everything we photograph and film, whether artworks, historic canvases, stage sets or costumes.

Press office timing

Photos delivered by the next day, selected and edited. For festivals, on the same day.

Photo and film, one direction

One point of contact for stills and film, with a consistent visual language on every channel.

From Turin, anywhere

We work across Italy and abroad. For foreign galleries at Italian fairs we are the local team, with no travel costs.
